Birthday Bash

Our girl had a wonderful birthday celebration with family. The sign she is holding is one we had made for her first birthday. The boys found it and put it in the yard. How cute is that? The boys started a tradition a couple of years ago where they launch rockets to celebrate Sissy's birthday. It's so much fun watching them get everything ready and then they do a count down and usually the rocket launches before they get finished. Good times! I made the centerpiece with Emms Eiffel tower and clipped pictures of her on it. Simple little carnations with a vase full of lemon slices, so easy. She loves zebra and black and white so here where her napkins and plates. This dessert is so yummy and all sugar free!! Her and I are doing great on our intentional eating and she didn't want to blow it on her birthday. This is a SF angel food cake with SF vanilla pudding ,SF cool whip, Sf crushed pineapple,fresh raspberries, strawberries and blueberries. It's so fresh and light and oh so good!! She had a great evening and the only thing she said was what's up with famous people dying on my birthday.

We are off to the lake and that means I won't be checking in for about 3 weeks. This is one of the best times of the year. No tv, no phones, no computer. Just the family, God and nature. I love it. I'm going to take some craft projects and some reading. I always come back rejuvenated.

Happy Birthday !!

Our beautiful amazing daughter is 20 today!! Hard to believe it. After trying to get pregnant for many years (6) we were blessed with this wonderful child. I can't even begin to tell you how much joy she has brought to our lives. We are so proud of her and are so excited to see where Gods plans take her.

So Happy Birthday Emilee !! We love you !!

Life Now...Happy Birthday Connor!!!

First I can't believe it's been a year that Connor Noah has been here and now he is turning 3 !! My dear friend Julie and her family adopted him from China. It's so funny thinking back how they had their hearts set on a little girl and then God tugged at them and showed them Connor. It's one of those times that God had such an amazing plan and they listened. Connor is exactly the child they were suppose to have. God knew that. Today is his birthday and I feel so blessed to have this little guy in my life and I know the Egge family feels blessed beyond measure.

Well, The Lord has blessed me with some amazing friends and I will be heading out with a couple of them on a girlfriend getaway. I am so excited. We keep asking ourselves "are we really going?" Are we taking the time to really do this? WE ARE!!! I will take lots of pictures and share many a tale with you when I return. Please pray for our journey and my family while I'm gone.

It's Sunday

Thank goodness it's Sunday and we are heading to church. This has been an emotional week for me. Wanting so much to be there for a friend but realizing they don't want you, it's a hard pill to swallow. I can say it's not about me and what I want but... my heart hurts!!!

Birthday Girl

Well, with all my excitement about Wicked I forgot to honor this sweet girl.

She turned 15 yesterday. I can't believe that she is going to be taking drivers ed . Katey you are such a beautiful, smart and wonderful young woman and although it's a day late I want to honor you and wish you a very HAPPRY BIRTHDAY!!!

Simply Awesome

See these smiling faces? We absolutely loved the show. I mean we wish we could go again. From the stage set-up to the lighting everything was amazing. I can't even begin to tell you how great the singing was. This musical is so funny and there is so much talent. It was so worth the money. Emm and I give this double thumbs up!! Go see it.

You may have noticed Miss Independent got herself a tiny nose piercing. Yep, it's true. I think we all make a right of passage and I can remember giving myself a third hole in one of my ears when I turned 18. I actually did it myself. (what was I thinking) So baby girl is growing up and making some of her own decisions. I am so proud of her for that. Do I wish she would have passed on this? Oh, you betcha. It's funny though, it has truly brought to the fore front how people judge and make assumptions. A nose piercing is an accessory not a life style. It's very tiny and very cute. Apparently we have the nose for it. She says I should get one!!

It's Official

She is heading to Anderson University this fall!!! She got the news yesterday and she is so excited. Thank you all for all your prayers. She is also at an interview this morning. I know God has a job for her and it will come in his timing. Don't know about you but I still have a hard time waiting on the Lord. I don't know why, he has never failed me !! His track record is pretty amazing. But I still have moments where I think I should know the plan.

Road Trip

Well, my sister in law went on a trip and that meant I could finally do a room makeover for her. Her birthday is this month and I wanted to surprise her. My in-laws live with her and she takes such good care of them. My Father in law has Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and he has very rough days. My SIL so deserves this makeover. I am so fortunate to have a very talented friend that is a designer. She was kind enough to meet me there and transform the kitchen and living room. It's so cool to watch her, she needs everything blank and then Shazam it's a beautiful room that anyone would love to have. Watching her inspired my daughter to come home and change the placement in the basement. Holly, not only are you beautiful, kind and very talented you are an awesome woman and I'm so lucky to call you my friend!!
Bonus: I get to go on a road trip with Holly in 2 weeks!!! She knew I have needed a break and she is just one of those women that makes things happen.
