Be Intentional

Be Intentional... wow these are words I have been thinking on. It makes such a difference in our words, our actions, what we put on our calendars, what we put in our mouths , our relationships, I'm thinking pretty much everything we do. So I have been working on intentionally making sure my family knows I love them. Through my words and actions. It's easy to become a supervisor with our families and assign work , correct mistakes, take charge and be a grumpy boss. I know we are just trying to get things done but I'm trying to be intentional with how I communicate with my people.
I'm also back to being very intentional on what I put in my mouth. This time last year I was down 60lbs and feeling awesome. I love feeling healthy and full of energy.
I also work very hard on people knowing I love Jesus. There are times I intentionally talk to someone in line or go through a certain checkout. I'm a work in progress but I'm liking this whole focus on living intentionally.
I'll keep you posted and maybe you can give it a try with me.

Time to Create

Took some time to create. I have been so busy with work that it was nice to sit down and be creative. Here's a little something I did for these 2 sweet little girls in Texas.

Winner

Dove Awards

I watched the dove awards last night and what a treat it was to see so many of my favorites. The best artist of the year went to this guy and when he sang Cinderella, I was sobbing. It was a beautiful tribute to their precious little girl who died last year. What was beautiful was at the end of the song he changed the words to say I know the dance goes on instead of at midnight you'll be gone. He knows and shares with so many that we dance after this life with our Lord.
His wife also accepted the award with him. It was just one of those great moments.

So, I love music but I truly enjoy listening to uplifting Christian music. You can go here http://www.klove.com/ and have it on while you are on the computer.
Have a wonderful weekend and we are hitting the 80's today!!!

Friday Focus

Today I get to focus on my daughter a bit. She survived finals and it's so good to have her home. I started thinking about how she is almost finished with her first year of college and how God saw me through. I started this blog almost a year ago when she was getting ready to graduate and I was struggling. What a difference a year of trusting the Lord can make. He has truly blessed me. At church one Sunday our Pastor told us we honor God by trusting him to be bigger than any life giant we may face. I loved that and kept it. So this day if you are facing a big ugly giant, trust the Lord. Focus on his word.

Matthew 6: 33-34 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry itself. NIV

Have a Fabulous Friday !!

PS I am so excited that my blog anniversary is fast approaching and I have been saving up some treasures for a wonderful giveaway. I'll share soon!!

We Made it

His Gift
My Gift

It's true, 26 years ago April 16th, 1983 my hubby and I were married. Hooray for us!! I'd love to tell you that we have planned a romantic dinner for two or that we have a weekend getaway planned but that would be a lie. We will be doing what parents do...taking care of our children's needs. Our girl gets to come home tomorrow and the boys have golf. Hubby got his anniversary gifts at the Bass Pro store when we went on spring break. I got mine last night . I was thrilled!!

My hubby is such a hard working man and so supportive of what I do. I am a lucky woman.

Thank you Lord for my marriage and these first 26 years!!

The Gift

The Gift

Well, I wanted to share a fun story. My friend Julie's daughter will be graduating next month and like my daughter wants her open house to reflect her. There will be no school colors or graduation caps for her. She loves Amy Butler and uses her fabrics to create beautiful quilts and other items. Amy Butler inspires her. So ladies remember what our moms always said? They can only say no. Well, I thought I would contact Amy Butler and tell her about how she has inspired this young woman and so many others and asked her if she would be kind enough to send Melissa good wishes on her graduation. Amy Butler is like a Rock Star and who knew she would actually respond. She so did!! She signed this awesome book for Melissa and sent it too me this week. It hasn't even been two weeks ! I tell you this because there are not many people that take the time any more to make someones day. She did and I appreciate it so much. This young woman will cherish the warm wishes. So a plug for Amy Butler who is still very much connected to the real world. She has a line of fabric and some beautiful scrapbooking paper. She has amazing patterns and her stuff is so colorful and fun. She has impressed me with her giving heart.

He Has Risen

He isn’t here! He has been raised from the dead, just as He said would happen. Come, see where His body was lying. --Matthew 28:6, NLT

Happy Easter!!

Good Friday Greetings

Aren't these bags so pretty
Used fishy crackers instead of jelly beans

A little touch of spring for a teacher.

Wanted to share a few Easter treats.
It's a gloomy Good Friday and it feels very appropriate. Because a gloomy Friday made for a the brightest Sunday the world has ever known.

Amazing Book

Rebecca from Knit by Gods Hand http://rebecca-belle.blogspot.com/ mentioned the book Six Hours One Friday and I must tell you I went and bought it last night. I love this book and Max Lucado he stirs a deep understanding of the love our God had and still has for us.
A small passage "A man is never the same after he simultaneously sees his utter despair and Christ's unbending grace."
Dear ones go to the foot of the cross and stand before your Lord again and really see him. Have you forgotten those 6 hours? Go now and remember.

Praise Him

Distractions

Well, I am going to be honest with you. I wanted to make this week the Holy week and really spend time preparing for Easter Sunday. I wanted to feel so connected to what my Jesus did for me. To really celebrate Sunday and all that it means. Why is it we can have the best of intentions and the most thought out plans and WHAM...here come the distractions. So many things can take us away form our time with the Lord and I need to be more disciplined in this area.
I pray that you are feeling his presence in the midst of all your distractions and finding time to praise him.

Spring Break Road Trip

A little fishing
They could hardly wait to go here

Friends, you counted right 7 boys!!

Another Fall

Our evening spot in the family room

Our view from our balcony

Death stairs

Our cool twin boys Garrett and Levi

The falls, worth the hike

God is so good!! He gave us beautiful weather and an amazing view. Wanted to share some pictures of our trip. This state park has the best Inn. We loved it. There is a pool and hot tub, restaurant and one of our favorite spots was the family room. It had a glowing fire, chairs that looked out at the Ohio river, tables for games. a huge tv and just a sense of home.

We hiked so much that this girl thought she was 18 and thin again. I had to hike to see the beautiful waterfalls. I love to hike and explore nature. My legs were killing me the next day but I hiked it again and you know what? Biggest Loser trainers are right the pain does get better.
We had a wonderful time and were so happy to be spending time together as a family. Emm got to come for dinner and hang out with us a little. Our friends were there and out of 7 boys we only came away with 1 broken arm !!! Hate that but when boys are being boys stuff happens. I love to watch boys get dirty, explore, and just be 13. It was like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn where with us. I loved it.
Thank you Lord for all your handy work . You gave us so many special touches and I am grateful.
Have a great week !!
